Zenbe Calendar ICal Feeds

September 22nd, 2008 by Tom Alison · comments · http://blog.zenbe.com/idgwq

I forgot to talk about a great new feature in my blog post from last week. You can now access ICal feeds for all of your Zenbe calendars. The ICal format allows you to view your Zenbe calendars in other applications that support it, including Apple ICal for OS X.

To find the ICal URL for your Zenbe calendars, click on the gear icon in the toolbar of the Calendar tab, and click on a calendar name. A dialog will appear that shows the link to the ICal version of your calendar. Simply copy and paste it into whatever external application you want to see your Zenbe events in.

    This is so cool… Now if only you could add a way to create events directly from the emails page, it would be perfect! =)

    lfom,

    If you keep your Agenda Quickview sidebar open on the right side of the screen, you can quickly add a new event no matter what part of the site you are in. Just click the “add event” button in the calendar widget.

    For me, it’s not recognizing individual calendars from Zenbe to iCal. Only one of my 4 Zenbe calendars subscribe – it simply keeps adding the same one no matter which I choose in Zenbe. (using Safari and the latest Mac OS)

    oops — cancel last reply. I refreshed the browser a couple times and now it seems to be working! Not sure what happened there — just glad it’s working! :)

    Tom,

    Thanks for your answer, and sorry, I guess I didn’t express myself well. What I meant is something like what Mail.app in Mac OS X 10.5 has that allows you to, with a single click, create an event with all the base info filled, like title, date, etc, extracted from the email itself.

    Thanks and kudos!

    @lfom,

    I understand what you mean now – thanks for clarifying. We’re just starting to delve into developing more advanced parsers to pull useful information like that out of email you display. We’re definitely keeping that feature in mind.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    This in certainly a very nice feature.
    Are there any plans to allow entering events from iCal into online calendars?

    I have added the iCal url to my netvibes page, but the agenda link doesn’t seem to function. I would like to be able to open my calendar, or add events via the widget. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

    Love your site so far. Thank you for it.
